What is Sho-Ku-Jitsu? Sho-Ku-Jitsu is the style of Martial Arts studied at the D.A.S. Martial Arts Academy. It is a one-of-a-kind Martial Art system created in 1974 by Martial Arts Hall of Famer Kyoshi Nathan Ingram.

Sho-Ku-Jitsu combines the best of three internationally reknown styles: Shotokan Karate, Kung-Fu, and Jujitsu. It emphasize kicks and punches, blocks, strikes, evasions, take-down techniques, and self defense. The techniques taught consist of basic hand and foot techniques. Hand techniques are divided into defensive or offensive moves. Foot techniques are divided into snap and thrust kicks. Other important elements include stances, balance, sparring (kumite) and forms (katas) -- a series of movements designed to defend against muliple oponents.
